Bishop Aaron Blake Sr. is a native Texan who brings a wealth of experience and
expertise to the North Texas District. In 2000, he was a bi-vocational pastor serving as a guidance counselor at Brownwood High School. Bishop Blake’s work has now turned toward opening doors between Child Protective Services and faith communities. He and his wife Mary of 44 years have 6 children and also have 6 foster sons who remain “engrafted” into the Blake family and continue to lovingly call him “Pop.” The Blake’s experience and leadership ignited a call within Greater Faith Community Church to care for US orphans. ...

Over the next decade, this faithful church of less than 200 members became a family to scores of children previously living in the foster care system. As the movement grew stronger, other ministry leaders and state leaders took note and continued to model after the work God blessed in Brown County.
